The main walkway across our floor (Level 3), seen from the West end:
and from the East:
Looking down to the ground from the walkway, you overlook the 'atria' (atriums, whatever) ...
At some points, the drop can look rather alarming (this is looking straight down to the ground, approx 15 metres):
At the West end, the stairs. The door in the middle of the picture at the top is the entrance to our West Comms room:
Inside West Comms:
The main rack inside the comms room. Standard patch panel, white cables are for data, green cables are for telephones. The data cables go to the Cisco 4006 chassis switch at the bottom of the rack:
At the other end of the building is East Comms:
Another patch panel, basically the same as the West one - at the very top of the rack is the small, grey transceiver which connects us to the outgoing fibre to the University at a data rate of 100-megabit, Which Is Nice:
Our new servers: firewall, email server and DNS/DHCP box, are yet to be properly racked and thus sit atop two large cardboard boxes, filled with packing materials:
The rest of our servers (fileservers, database servers etc.):
Finally, my desk. Haven't really finished 'moving in' yet, as is apparent:
And the view from my desk, of the rest of my office:
